Sherbro Island, Sierra Leone, 4 January 2020 – Idris Elba and the Sherbro Alliance Partners (SAP) team visit Sherbro Island where he is crowned Paramount Chief Kong Mbakie.
The team were joined by the Minister of Tourism Dr Memuna Pratt who commended Mr Elba for the visit and reassured that her Ministry would continue to create the enabling environment for root tourism to thrive.
Mr Elba and his team promised to do their upmost to ensure that the island regained its lost glory and it would never be the ‘forgotten island’ in Sierra Leone.
The event which was coordinated by the National Tourist Board (NTB) was attended by key stakeholders in the Bonthe District who were all excited about the islands future prospects.
