Sherbro Island, Sierra Leone, 24 December 2020 – SAP & Elba Foundation donate rice and provisions for islanders at Christmas which brought a huge sense of joy and hope to families who are struggling on the island to make ends meet. Some people walked for hours in the hot sun to receive their allocation as for many families and people of Sherbro, Christmas can be a difficult time, as they lack the resources to provide a festive meal or gifts for their children.
Donations of rice and provisions were a much-needed relief, allowing families to enjoy and share in the joy of the season. The gratitude of the recipients was overwhelming, as these donations meant the difference between hunger and satiation during a time of celebration.
Families who received the donations were touched by the generosity of the founders of SAP who have taken their time to make the holidays a little brighter for them. By donating bags of rice and provisions during the Christmas season, the team received many thanks and blessings and brought hope and joy to families on Sherbro making a positive impact in their lives. The SAP team also informed the islanders that this would be a yearly occurrence and that they were working diligently with the government of Sierra Leone to reach an agreement for the project so they could bring more impactful investment onto the island.
